Paul Galvin has published a very passionate essay entitled, "Providing Balance: America's Homeschoolers." Regarding public schools he writes, "With this toxic stew of course nothing meaningful will ever change."

Rachel from Christian Parent.com writes, "Teach Your Sons With These Great Homeschool Camping Ideas." I'm not sure that her suggestions need to be limited to boys. For that matter, I think public school kids could also learn a ton from her suggestions.

The Weymouth (MA) Wicked Local is running an article entitled, "Private Schooled Students Merit Public School Access." It states, "Tomorrow the (school) committee is expected to vote on whether to allow access to public school programs and activities to Weymouth students who are home-schooled or attending private schools."

In the article, "Homeschooling Group Makes Time for Student Socialization," the Southeast Missourian writes, "Each Friday, more than 115 students flood into Mount Auburn Christian Church for the classes, which started Sept. 4."

Weird Unsocialized Homeschoolers writes, "I hope you'll enjoy this week's selection of posts, offering inspiration, encouragement, tips and ideas as we showcase some of the fun, exciting, hands-on ways that homeschooling families live, learn, and enjoy life together..."

There's not a whole lot of news today. That's probably good because I am very excited about spending time with Homeschool Connections first day back, with over two hundred students.

In Gaston, North Carolina, the number of homeschoolers is going up, according to an article in the Gaston Gazette.

The Anchorage Daily News is running an article entitled, "Home School: Making the Grade?" The article states, "Should Alaska join the ranks of other states by tightening its home-schooling laws...State Education Commissioner Larry LeDoux wants to at least ask the question."

Thanks to Proverbs 14:1 we learn about Heart of the Matter Online, a website that Proverbs 14.1 describes as wonderful for homeschoolers, having great pictures.

Kit and Caboodle writes, "Being able to study what you want, when you want to, is the beauty of home school. " Her younger daughter is studying an Equestrian curriculum.

Boston.com is running a guest feature by a homeschooling mom in Michigan. It's entitled, "Confessions of a Homeschooling Mom: Part II." The post states, "I do put extra pressure on myself to turn everything into a learning experience, whether we're flying a kite or at the park. After a recent farm stand purchase of a purple cauliflower for dinner, I pulled everyone to the computer to look up what made it purple (answer: anthocyanin, an antioxidant found in red wine)."
